What does Ball Project do?

One thing, done well: Ball Project helps coaches and community leaders around the world buy balls and sports equipment so kids can play—because play builds confidence, community, and peace.

How does Ball Project help kids play?

We raise funds and wire them directly to trusted local leaders. Those leaders purchase balls and equipment in their own markets, then run games, clinics, camps, teams, and leagues for children, young people, and adults in their communities.

Why does Ball Project do what it does?

We believe in the power of play to create a world of hope. When kids play together, they are less likely to fight each other as adults. Sport and play teach discipline, teamwork, and goal-setting; build new interests and self-confidence; improve physical fitness; nurture a love of the outdoors; and support a healthy, lifelong lifestyle.

Why send money instead of shipping balls and equipment?

A few clear reasons:

  • Local impact: Buying locally strengthens local economies and gives community leaders more influence and ownership.

  • Speed: Funds reach projects quickly; no waiting on shipments or customs.

  • Efficiency: Gathering, storing, and shipping gear is time-consuming and administratively expensive.

  • Practicality: International shipping requires people-power and logistics that a lean, volunteer-led group shouldn’t spend donor dollars on.

Is Ball Project looking for more projects?

Yes! Heck yeah we are! We are always seeking energetic coaches and community leaders with strong, locally led projects that help kids play. Resources are limited, so we can’t support every opportunity, but we welcome conversations.

Can I donate new or used balls and sports equipment?

Nope. At this time, we can’t accept physical equipment unless you’re able to handle and pay for shipping and logistics directly to a project. A great alternative: donate your gear locally to a school, community center, or church that needs it.
